Zinedine Zidane: Former Real Madrid manager appointed France head coach

Former Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane has been appointed as the new head coach of the French national team.

Didier DeschampsFrance’s long-serving coach ended his 14-year stint at the 2026 World Cup after losing to Spain in the semi-finals.

In the year Zidane, who won the World Cup with France in 1998, has been out of a job since leaving Real Madrid for a second spell as head coach in 2021.
