Zamalek came close to winning the Egyptian league title with a clean sheet after a valuable win over Smouha in a game that brought them together today in the penultimate round of the competition.

Zamalek’s only goal was scored by Palestinian Uday Al-Dabagh in the 62nd minute, giving Al-Abyad a very valuable 3 points.

Zamalek extended their points lead to 53 points, ahead of runners-up Pyramids on 51 points, while Al-Ahli are third on 50 points and Smouha are seventh on 31 points.

And it should ZamalekA point tie in the final round against Ceramica Cleopatra to decide the title.

Al-Ahly beat Enppi 3-0 to keep the pressure on Zamalek and Pyramid.

Hussein Al-Shahat (8th Q), Ahmed Zizo (21 penalties) and Ashraf Bin Sharqi (47th Q) scored a hat-trick for Al-Ahly.

Al-Ahli took their tally to 50 points in third place, while Enppi remained on 36 points in sixth place in the crowning group.

In another match of the same round, Pyramids drew with Ceramica Cleopatra with one goal apiece.

Mohamed Reda Bubu (30th minute) put Ceramica ahead and Nasser Maher equalized for Pyramids in the 36th minute.
