Yann Diomande: Real Madrid agree deal for RB Leipzig winger as interest from PSG ends

RB Leipzig winger Yann Diomande has agreed a personal contract with Real Madrid after Paris Saint-Germain dropped their interest.

He was a 19-year-old Ivory Coast international. who was previously a Liverpool target In June, an initial bid of £69m was rejected, as well as PSG.

Liverpool have since moved on to other targets and PSG have now opted to enter a bidding war with Real.

PSG’s latest bid of £102.5m for the teenager on Sunday was reportedly rejected.

Since then, Madrid have agreed personal terms, exemplified by the signing of English midfielder Judd Bellingham, as they look to boost performance and improve year on year.

Real will pay more than £100m for Diomande, who joined Leipzig from Spanish club Leganes on a five-year deal last summer.

Sources close to Real say key negotiators Jose Angel and Juni Calafat have been visiting Diomande for five years but have not responded to Diomande’s World Cup performances.

Leipzig have tried hard to keep the striker in Germany, but they consider his interest in Diomand to be unusual, so they have had trouble turning down interest from Europe’s top clubs and a high selling price.

Diomande is the Bundesliga Young Player of the Year for the 2025-26 season and scored 12 goals and provided 8 assists last season.
