Yamal about the confrontation with France. I am looking forward to celebrating my beloved’s birthday.

Is it sarcastic?

Spain’s young star Lamine Yamal made fiery comments after his country qualified for the 2026 World Cup semi-finals at the expense of Belgium (2-1), stressing that Spain are not afraid of facing France next Tuesday, but rather the Roosters are the ones who should be afraid.

Yamal, who was named the best player of the match despite not scoring or assisting any goals, said in the press statements after the game.

The 18-year-old player of “Barcelona” added: “If there is anyone who should be afraid, it is them. We eliminated them. We are two great teams, for me they are the best, but we are not afraid of anything.”

Yamal said confidently about not scoring goals in this tournament. “It doesn’t disappoint me, I scored a goal and won the European Championship. As long as we qualify I will be very happy. The most important thing is the team.”

The Spanish star revealed his desire to score against France, saying: “I hope so, I really want to,” clearly hinting at his ambitions to make his mark in the upcoming showdown.

Yamal confirmed about his physical training. “I’m feeling better and will get better every week. I come in completely confident in myself and know that everything will be fine. I’m ready. I look forward to that day.”

Referring to the playing style of the French national team, he said. “They are a team that will attack us, but not for the whole match. They are physically strong, but we will try to control the ball.”

In a human touch, Yamal shared a phone call with his younger brother Ken on his mother’s phone, smiling.
