Wrexham News: Zak Weiner is excited to witness the Red Dragons’ US popularity first hand

Wrexham, preparing for a second successive season in the Championship, meet Leeds in Tampa on Sunday 26 July before facing Liverpool in New York four days later.

Their last pre-season game is against Sunderland in Philadelphia on Sunday, August 2 and Vinar will be looking to make an impression on the tour.

“I’m ready to go, I feel good, I feel fit,” Weiner added.

“This tour, and pre-season in general, is for everyone basically to give the manager a headache.

“I’m looking to do it and hopefully have some more games, get some more minutes, get myself fitter and just get ready for the season.”

Viner, 29, Joined Wrexham from Championship rivals Bristol City An undisclosed fee during the January transfer window.

He picked up a toe injury while joining and then saw action in central midfield. He missed the last five games of the season with a groin injury.

“I left in the summer and there’s more to come,” Weiner said.

“When you move to a new club, and this is the first time I’ve done it on a permanent basis, it’s about getting to grips with everything off the pitch as well.

“There’s a bunch of stuff that goes on behind the scenes that people don’t really see.

“It’s a big jump just to bed in a new place, new club and a new changing room.

“I feel a lot closer to the guys now and everyone is great, but naturally it takes a while to get a lot closer and get to know each other’s personalities, playing styles, everything.

“I’m ready to go and there’s more to come.”
