World Cup 2026: Thomas Tuchel slams FIFA over Folarin Balogan – where does this end?

England coach Thomas Tuchel says there is total confusion over the disciplinary process at the World Cup after FIFA. Shocking decision not to suspend Folarin Baloga.

American striker Balogan, who was sent off against Bosnia-Herzegovina, should be suspended for the last 16 match against Belgium (Tuesday 01:00 BST).

But FIFA opted not to impose an immediate ban, meaning the co-host’s leading goalscorer will be available to play.

Jarrell Kwansah was sent off in England. Mexico won 3-2Tuchel was asked before Saturday’s quarter-final against Norway whether he would appeal to FIFA to have his ban lifted.

“Where does this begin and where does it end now?” Tuchel said. “Should we flip it or not? What’s going on?”

“The question is, where do I draw the line? I don’t have an answer to that.

“If a yellow card is not a yellow, do we appeal? Do we think it’s not a red card or who cares? Where does this start and where does this end? That’s my question. I don’t have an answer.”

Baloghi and Kwansah were sent off by video assistant referee (VAR) review.
