Argentina’s football association has indicated it may be the target of a cyber attack after emails from its official account appeared to criticize the national team’s referees. 3-2 win against Egypt In the World Cup.

In response to the incident, an AFA statement read: “We would like to inform you that we have detected a possible email being sent from one of our institutional accounts that was not created or authorized by our team.”
It asked the public to “discard any messages received recently from our account and are unusual, especially if they contain links, attachments or requests for personal information”.
“There is a possibility that our account was subject to unauthorized access, so we are working to clarify what happened and take the necessary security measures,” AFA added.
