World Cup 2026: England’s Harry Kane and Dan Burn attend Ella Langley concert

Harry Kane and Dan Byrne were among England players who attended a concert by US country music star Ella Langley, but had to leave early to beat curfew.

Defender Byrne said that captain Kane, who scored twice in England’s 4-2 win over Croatia in their World Cup opener, is a “big country music fan”.

Manager Thomas Tuchel gave the England players a day off on Friday and Kane, Burn and goalkeeper Jason Steele used the opportunity to visit Langley in Missouri’s Independence.

Langley is best known for his hit Chosin’ Texas, which topped the US charts and reached number 12 in the UK.

“We were asked to go and see Ella Langley. I was the only one with a cowboy hat, jeans, the lot,” Newcastle United’s Byrne said.

“Harry and Steely managed to meet Ella before the gig, but I came back a bit later.

“But we missed the last three songs because we had to come back for curfew, which I was a little disappointed about because it’s his best song.”

He added: “Harry’s a big country music fan. There’s a record player in the hotel and it’s a lot of country music when the captain’s pick is on.

“Ella was playing in West Palm Beach when we were there, but we couldn’t go because we couldn’t get back for curfew so I’m glad we got another chance.”

Kane later posted photos from the concert on Instagram, one showing him standing next to Langley who was holding an England shirt.

“Nice to meet you @ellalangleymusic, thank you for having us!” He wrote

“Amazing show, keep destroying it!”
