Mark Guhi has won his fitness test and is expected to start England’s World Cup quarter-final against Norway at centre-back alongside the legendary John Stones.
Manchester City defender Guhi picked up a muscle strain in the win over Mexico and has missed training sessions this week.
But he is likely to be asked to continue in England’s defence.
He is expected to play against Stones in defence, making his first appearance in the XI since the opener against Croatia.
Ezri Konsa is set to move from central defender to right back.
Declan Rice is fit to start despite an illness that has disrupted his preparations for the game, while Noni Maduke is expected to start ahead of Bukayo Saka in another XI change.
Stones, 32, has been a substitute in every match since Croatia. But he played a key role against Mexico, coming on for Saca in the 57th minute following Jarrell Kwansah’s red card.
Expected England squad: Pickford, Konsa, Guhi, Stones, O’Reilly, Anderson, Rice, Maduke, Gordon, Bellingham, Kane.
