Women’s Super League: Aston Villa sign Norwegian midfielder Justine Kielland

Norway international Justin Kielland has joined Aston Villa from German club Wolfsburg subject to visa approval.

Defensive midfielder Kielland has become a regular in the senior national team with 16 caps for Norway’s youth team.

The 23-year-old started his career with Stabek before signing for fellow Norwegian side Braun in 2023.

She helped the club reach the quarter-finals of the Women’s Champions League, scoring four goals in 12 games, moving to Wolfsburg in 2024.

“It’s an amazing feeling,” Kielland said. “I’m really excited now to finally be here. It feels really good to put on the jersey for the first time, I’m excited to get started.

“I’m looking forward to competing in the Women’s Super League. You can see every team is getting better and the league is making strides every year, so I’m really excited to test myself here as well.”

Keeland said new Villa team-mate Lynn Willems spoke favorably of the club ahead of the move.

“I got on the phone with Lynn and heard her thoughts,” he added.

“Everything he’s said has been positive and everyone I’ve spoken to has nothing but positive things to say. I’m really looking forward to getting started.”
