Women’s Super League: Aston Villa have signed Everton goalkeeper Emily Ramsey

Aston Villa have confirmed the signing of goalkeeper Emily Ramsey on a free transfer from Everton.

The 25-year-old spent four years on Merseyside after an initial loan spell in 2022.

“It seemed like the right time for a new challenge,” he said. “I’m excited to play at Villa Park on the right side of the team, get to know the players and see what we can achieve together this season.”

Ramsey represented England at junior level up to the Under-23s and was called up to the senior team in 2023.

While at Manchester United he also had loan spells at Sheffield United, West Ham and Birmingham City, where he made six appearances in a five-year spell.

Villa’s Director of Women’s Football Marissa Yers added: “Emily is a goalkeeper with strong experience in the WSL and a real desire to continue to develop her game.

“He arrived at Villa keen to challenge himself and contribute to the group.”
