Warwickshire beat Lancashire by four wickets in a match reduced to 42 overs by rain at Southport.

Chasing a target of 227, Warish finished with 2-6 from 9 balls, finishing 3-6 from 9 balls, before a brilliant stand of 75 from 66 balls between Mary Taylor (42 not out) and Nat Waithe (34 not out) saw the competition’s leading run-scorer Charis Pavelli score 63 – the highest score of the match.

A third-wicket stand of 83 put Lancashire on 226-9 with most of the runs coming from captain Ellie Threlkeld (39) and Maddy Pena (38).

Kate Cross marshaled the lower order to 34 off 33 balls, while Taylor returned her best Warwickshire bowling figures of 3-47 with Phoebe Brett (2-35) and Georgia Davies (2-38) taking two wickets each.

The result leaves Lancashire second from bottom of the table with two wins from seven games, while Warwickshire move into the top four with their third win.
