Real Madrid left-back Alvaro Carreras has commented on recent rumors of a spat with fellow Real Madrid defender Antonio Rudiger, attempting to play down the matter.
Spanish radio station Onda Cero reported yesterday, Tuesday, that Carreras was slapped by Rudiger in the dressing room before their teammates intervened to prevent the situation from escalating.
Carreras, in turn, responded to this news on his official pages of social networks, saying: “In recent days, there have been some reviews and comments about me that are not true. My commitment to this club and the coaches I’ve worked with has been there from day one and will remain so.”
He added: “Since my return, I have always worked with the highest professionalism, respect and dedication. I fought hard to achieve my dream of returning home.”
He concluded his speech. “As for the incident with one of my colleagues, it was a simple matter that was already resolved. My relationship with the whole team is great. Halla Madrid.”
It is noteworthy that Carreras joined Real Madrid from “Benfica” at the beginning of the current season, but lost the starting place to Ferlan Mendy and Ferran Garcia in the last matches.
