Slate will sell more than 200 accessories for the car, many of which appear to cost less than $500, such as roof racks, stereos, along with seats and light covers. The Slate’s lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery and powertrain come with a 10-year or 110,000-mile warranty. The company has also partnered with more than 3,000 RepairPal stores across the country.
Although this mileage ranges from 150 to 205 miles to record making it the most usable, this is based on Slate’s estimates of EPA tests, not ratings. The car is already in production, so this is still subject to change.
In appearance, the Slate is the true, upright, all-rounder of American two-seaters, but at 175 inches long, 71 inches wide, and 69 inches tall, it’s smaller than Ford Maverick. The company, visibly confident in the beauty of its new EV basement, will build the Slate at a refurbishing plant in Warsaw, Indiana, where it plans to invest about $400 million in facilities.
However, a new study by Edmunds says that less than 5 percent of new cars sold for $ 25,000 or less in 2025, and this number is also falling, because it was about 21 percent in 2019, although this may be due to the increase in prices to reduce the number of cars available in this bracket.
Commenting on Slate’s pricing, Edmunds chief operating officer Ivan Drury said: “Slate is betting $25,000 that drivers still want something simple.”
