With 64 teams participating, America is considering hosting the 2038 World Cup

The United States of America is currently hosting the men’s World Cup final for the second time in its history, having previously hosted the event in 1994.

The executive director of the White House World Cup task force said that the United States may consider submitting a bid to host the 2038 World Cup.

The United States will host the 2026 championship in partnership with Canada and Mexico, after the tournament expanded from 32 teams to 48. FIFA is also considering expanding the tournament again to 64 teams starting in 2030.

Andrew Giuliani said in a statement BBC Network “If you think the World Cup could one day expand to 64 teams, then I think the United States can host it.”

He added: “Let’s get through this edition of the World Cup first, which ends on July 19, then we can bid to host 2038 or any other edition.”

Giuliani explained that he spoke with US President Donald Trump about the ability of the United States to host the World Cup again.

He concluded, “There’s no country better prepared to host the World Cup than the United States, and I think we’re seeing that on social media.”

The 2038 edition is the next tournament to open nominations to host it.

The 2030 tournament will be held jointly in Morocco, Spain and Portugal, while the 2034 tournament will be held in Saudi Arabia.
