Great Britain’s Henry Patten and Finnish teammate Harry Heliova reached their second Wimbledon men’s doubles final in three years.
The world number one, the 2024 champions at the All England Club, maintained their bid to regain the title by beating American Aleksandar Kovacevic and Australian Thanasi Kokkinakis 7-6 (7-2) 7-6 (10-8).
The result means Patten and Heliovara have won six of seven tie-breaks in this fortnight’s rivalry – including coming via 10-point match tie-breaks in their previous three rounds.
Having only joined forces in 2024, they will now look to win their third Grand Slam title in 2025 after winning the Australian Open.
In Saturday’s final they will face El Salvador’s Marcelo Arevalo and Croatia’s Mate Pavic, who defeated them in the final at Queen’s Club last month.
Patten told BBC TV: “It feels great. The joy, the relief, the happiness, the big emotions. It’s what you dream of doing. We’re a bit tired, but we’re over the moon.”
On his return to the Wimbledon final, he added: “I expect we’ll still be quite nervous. There’s no getting away from it – it’s a Wimbledon final on Center Court.
“It’s a unique feeling. The butterflies will definitely be there.”
Arevalo and Pavic knocked out Britain’s defending champions Julian Cash and Lloyd Glasspool on Wednesday.
Two-time French Open doubles winner Arevalo and Pavic, winner of four Slams including Wimbledon in 2021, won 6-2 6-4 when they faced Patten and Heliovara in Queens three weeks ago.
