Barcelona coach Hansi Flick bid farewell to Poland striker Robert Lewandowski in emotional statements ahead of the final game of the season at the Camp Nou, while also leaving the door open for Danish defender Andreas Christensen to stay.

When asked if there are any other players who will leave the Catalan club this summer, Flick cautiously replied:

Christensen has made a difficult decision regarding his future in the Catalan club. He has a proposal to extend the contract with a halved salary, and his final answer has not yet been given to the management.

Barcelona president Joan Laporta had promised the player a contract extension when it was confirmed he would undergo surgery and miss most of the season, fulfilling the club’s commitment to him.

English offers… but survival is more likely

Although several Premier League clubs have contacted Christensen, all indications are that the Danish defender is inclined to stay at the Catalan side and accept the offer made to him.
