The World Health Organization has urged countries to continue monitoring people infected with the hantavirus after a case was discovered among Dutch workers who were on the ship at the center of the outbreak.
Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, the head of the WHO, told a press conference in Geneva on Friday that he was urging all countries to monitor the passengers who boarded the MV Hondius cruise ship and “travel with caution the rest of the time”.

Tedros said a member of the Dutch team had tested positive for the virus and was now in self-isolation, bringing the total to 12.
So far, three people have died from the virus.
Tedros said no deaths had been reported since May 2, when the outbreak was first reported to the WHO.
“More than 600 contacts continue to be traced in 30 countries, and a few high-risk individuals are still being traced,” he added.
The Dutch authorities also confirmed that the worker went to the hospital.
The Dutch National Institute for Public Health and the Environment (RIVM) said: “One person hospitalized in the Netherlands found the Andes virus.
“The RIVM understands that this issue may cause questions or concerns. However, the chances of further expansion in the Netherlands are still very low,” he said.
According to the RIVM, everyone who left on a Dutch-flagged train to the Netherlands is tested every week, and two different laboratories have confirmed that they are positive.
It added that the person who tested positive is self-isolating at home.
The first cruise departed on April 1 from Ushuaia, Argentina, before heading to Cape Verde and then to Tenerife in Spain’s Canary Islands.
While the WHO is investigating how the virus entered the ship, it is believed that the first person to contract the virus could have come into contact with rats during a bird-watching trip.
While rodents transmit hantavirus, the Andean species is the only species known to be able to spread from person to person.
