The recent outbreaks of hantavirus and Ebola are linked to cuts in funding for the World Health Organization, the WHO chief and other UN leaders told members of the World Health Assembly in Geneva. The WHO’s main donor, the US, stopped funding under the Trump administration in January 2025.
