The former “Arsenal” coach explained his opinion
FIFA’s head of global football development, veteran coach Arsene Wenger, has given his opinion on Bayern Munich’s penalty call in the first half against Paris Saint-Germain in Wednesday’s Champions League semi-final second leg at the Allianz Arena.
The strike came when Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Vitinia crossed the ball into his team’s penalty area but it hit the hands of team-mate Joao Neves, forcing Bayern’s players to call for a penalty, but Portuguese referee Joao Pinheiro ruled that play should continue.

Wenger felt that this shot should have been a penalty for the home team because Neves “raised his hand even though the ball was coming from a teammate”.
FIFA regulations state that if the ball touches a player’s hand coming directly from a teammate, it is not considered a foul unless the hand is in an unreasonable position or there is no apparent intent.
