Morocco coach Mohamed Uebe expressed his great satisfaction at taking the three points away from Scotland, stressing that the Atlas Lions responded better than in the opening game, despite the result not being decided early on.
After the game ended with a clean goal, Webb said. “The three points are the most important. We came up against a tough opponent who relied on consistent defense and long balls, and when you don’t get the second goal, you have to defend hard.”
“Football players deserve this award. We knew in advance that the match would be difficult and that the opponent would press in the last minutes to equalize, but we managed to apply high pressure and not allow them to get close to our area for a long time.”
He continued. “I would have liked to have seen the second goal so we could have more rest, but this is the nature of football and this is the level of the World Cup. They managed to close the spaces and control the rhythm, which made us nervous.”
Webb emphasized that his team showed a remarkable development compared to the first match, saying: “Believe me or not, I’m very happy with the game. We got into the penalty area many times and controlled the second half well and I can see a clear development which makes me optimistic that we will be better in the third game.”
Regarding the upcoming confrontation with Haiti, he clarified. “We have 4 points and are not guaranteed qualification yet. In the World Cup you face opponents with different styles of play and I will select the best squad based on the willingness of the players to qualify.”
