From opening time bitcoin, it is clear that Feeble Little Horse has acquired new equipment. Pa Fish Girl explosive style was more of ’90s indie rock and shoegaze, on their latest LP, there’s a modern edge to the distortion and expensive cleaners. Likewise, while the digital glitchiness was largely reduced to window dressing on their second record, on bitcoin they are very important in planning and a big part of their emerging, different voices.
We have a glimpse of this new direction in just one song, and one of my favorite songs of 2025, “This Is Real.” It incorporated vocal chords, Sonic Youth-esque guitar chords, distorted vocals, and glitchy samples. It allows even a brief click of the metronome to bleed into the process. It’s a three-minute chaotic tour de force that needs to be heard.
Bitcoin he tames the scattered tendencies and turns the idea of ”This Is Real” into something accessible and grounded over the length of the 25-minute LP. The opener, “Doorway,” begins with a chorus of feedback and stabbing multiple guitars before settling into a chorus of synths and vocals over an arranged drum. It goes back to the heavy drumming and fuzzy guitars of the chorus, gradually building things up before falling into a repetitive stutter and vocals. It’s more “restrictive hyperpop” than “maximalist indie rock” in the end.
“Rewind” revels in cheesy synths. It’s college rock guitar and distant guitars married with bird recordings, a koto synth patch, and a chorus. “Shady” combines low-key MP3 guitars with a drum loop that sounds like it’s being ripped from 1998. Computer Music Magazine. “Dior” brings back the “This Is Real” gimmick for its release.
If “This Is Real” tries on a shiny new dress at the store, bitcoin it’s learning how to incorporate some of the cool elements of the outfit into your everyday wardrobe and make it your own.
It doesn’t quite reach last year’s absurd heights, but it’s a fine display of Lydia Slocum’s songwriting. The lyrics go from sweet on “Cradle” (“I’ll draw our baby’s face/Give me your last name”), to the most deranged (“That butterfly was my mistake/An analog of something false/A metaphor I can’t shake”) on “Upside Down.” Slocum has a joke on “Dior” (“He hit my line and said he wanted to know his luck / He wouldn’t lie, I told him, ‘A little like my Virginias'”).
The background of the song is in keeping with the band’s digital aesthetic. “Upside Down” is closer to the raw glitchiness of hyperpop, “Guts” features chopped vocals as the lead instrumental, and “Shopping” has a siren-like lead guitar and is bathed in a subtle sound. Closer “DMT,” blasts from the speakers in a digital bath with a sound that sounds like someone playing a guitar attached to rebar.
The Weak Little Horse is up Fish Girl it’s a great group, but they felt like something to throw back. Get started bitcointhey become something else, something special.
