10 teams reserve their places in the third round of the World Championship… and 6 tickets are left

The places for the eighth finals of the 2026 World Cup are close to being finalized at the end of the fourth day (round of 32) of the second round of the tournament.

10 qualifying rounds

So far, 10 teams have qualified for the Round of 16: Canada, Brazil, Paraguay, Morocco, Norway, France, Mexico, England, Belgium and the United States of America.

Canada was the first team to advance to this stage with a 1-0 win over South Africa, while Brazil qualified at the expense of Japan 2-1 and Paraguay edged out Germany 4-3 on penalties.

The Moroccan national team also secured an exciting qualification against the Netherlands 3-2 on penalties, while Norway followed after beating Ivory Coast 2-1, France 3-0 Sweden and Mexico 2-0 Ecuador.

England came from one goal down to make it two wins from the Democratic Republic of Congo, and similarly Belgium came back from two behind Senegal to win 3-2, while hosts United States of America joined the ranks of the finals with a clean sweep of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The Arabs are currently hosting Morocco in the Round of 16, waiting for the other two teams, Egypt and Algeria, to qualify.

The ten finalists include 4 European teams – France, Norway, England and Belgium – and 3 from North America, the hosts Canada, Mexico and the USA, compared to the Latin duo represented by Brazil and Paraguay, in addition to Africa’s Morocco.
