The Brazilian star talks about the possibility of Neymar’s return against Scotland
After the victory over Haiti in the second round of the group stage of the 2026 World Cup, Brazilian star Vinicius Junior expressed hope that his teammate Rafinha’s injury is not serious.

But Rafa is a very important player for us and this season he got many injuries. Hopefully it’s not serious and he can stay with us until the end of the tournament.”
“Without a doubt, today’s three-goal win gives us confidence to continue to progress in the tournament and gives us peace before the next game. The first game was completely different because of the pitch, but today we felt more comfortable and the quality of the pitch helped us present our usual style.
“It was a very important match for us because we managed to apply our style of play. Having more players deep gave us composure and superiority on the pitch and we were able to create many chances and score goals. We have to keep developing and improving to have great matches.”
“Neymar is a very important player for us. Hopefully he will be ready for the next game. We are happy with his development and his presence in the group is very important. He is my role model and has always supported me. I hope he will be back in the next game and help us for the rest of the tournament.”
Vinicius praised national team coach Carlo Ancelotti, emphasizing his confidence in his technical decisions, saying: “I think the coach will choose the formation and the appropriate method for each match according to the opponent. Against Haiti, the plan was appropriate as the opponent played with three defenders and spaces appeared which we used well. We managed to effectively attack those areas.”
As for the adopted composition of the team, he added. “I don’t think it’s the best line-up we have, but it’s the best way to play in these conditions because we have players who have a lot of speed and can hit backs and hurt opponents.”
As for his personal level, he said: “As I mentioned before, I am in my prime physically, technically and mentally. I have always dreamed of reaching the best tournament in the world and I am fully prepared. Scoring goals, creating chances and playing great games gives me extra confidence for the upcoming matches. and take Brazil to the top.”
“Philadelphia is a city where I feel very comfortable. I’ve played here before with Real Madrid in the Club World Cup and scored and assisted, and today it almost happened again. I hope to come back here many times and score more goals.”
