The French striker moved to Al Hilal in Mercato last winter
Television reports revealed the truth about the transfer of Frenchman Karim Benzema, Al Hilal’s striker, to Diria club in the upcoming summer transfer period.
Diriyah Club were promoted to the Saudi Roshan League for the first time in their history after defeating Al-Ula in the play-off final for promotion from the Yellow League to the first division last May.
Since Roshan’s promotion to the league, Al-Diriya have been linked with a number of high-profile signings, the most recent being French forward Karim Benzema, amid rumors he is leaving Al-Hilal in the summer’s Mercato.
However, Saudi journalist Khaled Al-Shanef denied this news through the “Durina Ghair” program of the “Saudi Arabia” channel, where he said that its accuracy is 0%.
The French striker moved to Al-Hilal in the last winter transfer window as part of a free transfer deal, terminating his contract with Al-Ittihad, where he had been playing since the summer of 2023, when he joined the Saudi Arabian league from Real Madrid.
However, Benzema failed to prove his worth at Al Hilal, especially in light of a succession of injuries that kept him out of numerous matches.
After moving to their ranks in Mercato last winter, the 38-year-old player participated in only 13 matches with Al-Zaim, during which he managed to score 9 goals and make 5 assists.
