Manchester City’s celebration witnessed a unique moment that caught the attention of the fans. The hero was Belgian Vincent Kompany, the current coach of “Bayern” Munich.
Manchester City celebrated their FA Cup and Carabao Cup wins today, Monday, with a public procession on an open-air bus that traveled through the streets of Manchester amid large crowds and a unique festive atmosphere.
The Sky team managed to finish their domestic season by winning the domestic double, after winning the FA Cup and the League Cup, continuing to strengthen their record of titles in recent years.
The procession witnessed the presence of all Manchester City players as the open-top bus set off from Manchester’s northern borough amid a great interaction of fans who gathered to greet the players and technical staff.
Egyptian star Omar Marmoush was one of the biggest names in the festivities after joining his co-stars in a march to celebrate winning the local double.
Spanish coach Pep Guardiola was also present on the bus alongside the players, looking emotional after he announced his retirement from coaching at the end of the current season after a 10-year stint within the club’s walls.
The celebratory procession will finish outside the Etihad Stadium in front of the entrance to the Colin Bell Coliseum, where the event will include live music performances, various entertainment segments, in addition to interviews with players from the men’s and women’s teams, in the presence of a number of distinguished guests.
But the most exciting moment came when Vincent Kompany suddenly appeared, carrying one of the trophies, to the surprise and warm applause of the fans present.
The historic former Manchester City captain carried one of the six Premier League titles the team won under Guardiola in an iconic photo that recalled Kompany’s historic relationship with the English club.
Kompany is regarded as one of the most prominent symbols of the golden generation in Manchester City’s history, making an exceptional mark as a player and leader before embarking on a coaching career that later took him to Bayern Munich.
His surprise appearance grabbed the spotlight as soon as he entered the pitch, turning the celebration into an emotional and moving moment that recalled one of the greatest periods in the English club’s history.
