The young goalkeeper stood out with outstanding performances in the first game
Al-Qadisiya goalkeeper Abdullah Al-Muhaisen deservedly deserved to be the lion of the first season of the Air Elite League (Saudi Arabia’s under-21 league), despite his team not being crowned the title.
The curtain came down on the Elite Aviation League Championship on Saturday as Al-Hazm team crowned the first leg, defeating Al-Fateh 3-1 in the final match at the Tamuel Al-Ula Square Stadium in Al-Ahsa City.
After the match, Abdullah Al-Muhaisen was crowned the best goalkeeper award in the first edition of the Joy Elite League, following the exceptional levels he has displayed throughout the season.
Al-Muhaisen’s performances helped Al-Qadisiya finish the league stage in fifth place with 36 points from 11 wins, 3 draws and 6 defeats, one point behind fourth-placed Al-Taaun and a direct place in the quarter-finals.
The young goalkeeper’s brilliance did not stop at the league stage as he clearly shone in the play-offs and the quarter-finals and even the semi-finals, which Al-Qadisiya left after losing 1-2 on aggregate to Al-Fateh.
Al-Muhaysen presented the practical side of the saying. “The goalkeeper is half of the team.” While Ammar Al-Yahibi, Iyad Hossa and Ammar Al-Hajju traded goals, he and his defense were an impenetrable barrier to conceding opposing goals, well deserving of this award.
