Unlike the Jordanian crisis, the Algerian coach has once again come under fire
Former Al-Nasr club legend Fahd Al-Harifi has slammed Algerian coach Nour El-Din Zikri, the coach of Al-Shabaab after their heavy defeat to Al-Liut in Al-Taawan.
Al-Taawan defeated hosts Al-Shabaab 5-1 in a resounding victory in the Saudi Rosha Professional League on Sunday.
Al-Shabaab’s tally rests on 32 points in 13th place after going without a win in four consecutive games.

“I am surprised that Bin Zachary is taking on the task of training the youth. He switches teams about every six months, as if someone is marketing him. I see that he only works in the Saudi League.”

He noted that not every person who appears in programs and studios to promote himself is considered a famous trainer, adding: “It is unfair for Zakri to train young people.”
He emphasized that the Algerian coach “may be suitable for lower level clubs (youth), adding: “The errors before Al-Taaun were primitive.”
He continued. “The reason for what happened with Al-Shabaab (against Al-Taawun) is the coach who lives in the studio. Nur El-Din Zikri is far below the level of Al-Shabaab club.”

The youth administration appointed Noureddine Zakri as technical director last February and his contract is extended until the end of the current season, replacing Spanish coach Emmanuel Alguasil.
Zakri was known for his success in stints with a number of Saudi clubs such as Al-Khulud, Al-Akhdoud, Damak, Al-Fayha and Al-Raed.

Al-Harifi’s comments put pressure on the Algerian coach again, just days after the storm of criticism he faced after his comments against the Jordanian national team, even from some Algerians.
Zachary said in a press interview through TikTok.If Algeria doesn’t beat Jordan in the next World Cup, let’s get out of football“.
The teams of Algeria and Jordan will compete with Argentina and Austria in the 10th group of the 2026 World Cup.
