Jordan’s national team plane landed at Queen Alia International Airport, carrying the story of Jordan’s first appearance at the 2026 World Cup, to see the entire country await them with a star-studded welcome, with a Hashemite flag and a message of thanks from FIFA.
The delegation of the national football team arrived in Amman after a historic participation in the finals of the 2026 World Cup, which ended with a 1-3 defeat against Lionel Messi’s teammates.
At the forefront of those welcoming the champions was His Majesty the King, Prince Faisal bin Al Hussein, President of the Jordanian Olympic Committee, who welcomed the players and training and administrative staff upon their return to the Kingdom.
At a reception attended by a number of dignitaries, His Highness expressed his appreciation for the team’s honorable performance, which reflected a bright image of Jordanian football in terms of discipline, fighting spirit and determination to take on the world’s elite teams.
Preparations for the reception began early and the Queen Alia International Airport witnessed a scene of solemn celebration that brought together dignitaries and celebrities; Musical performances by the Jordanian Armed Forces played at the venue, while concerned authorities lined up to host a reception befitting Al-Nashama’s achievements.

After the ceremony, the players took a private bus down the inner path to the airport in an organized crowd that came to say one word: thank you.
The appreciation did not stop within the borders of the country. The International Football Federation (FIFA) sent an exclusive message of thanks to the Jordanian national team at the end of the World Cup.
