Will the Spanish coach continue until the end of his contract with “City”?
Speculation is growing The future of Pep Guardiola The Manchester City manager, given many media reports that he will leave the Etihad Castle at the end of the current season.
Despite reports in the English media of Guardiola’s departure and Manchester City agreeing a deal with former Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca, Pep caused controversy yesterday with his comments following the 1-1 draw with Bournemouth on Tuesday night.
After officially losing the Premier League title to Arsenal, Guardiola told Sky Sports:
“The first person to speak is the president of the club. When the season is over, we will talk and make a decision.”
“I am the happiest person in the world to be in this club. It’s something exceptional.”
In the current season, “Manchester City” has one match left, which they will play against “Aston Villa” next Sunday at the “Etihad Stadium”, after which the fate of the Spanish coach will be officially clarified.
Guardiola began his journey at Manchester City in 2016 and stayed at the Sky Club for 10 years, during which he won the Premier League title six times, in addition to the Champions League once in 2023.
But many have started to talk that Guardiola could continue at City for another season, especially after his appearance in a video announcing Manchester City’s new shirt for the 2026-2027 season.
On the other hand, others believe that the appearance of the Spanish coach in the video is not an indicator of survival, but just a kind of propaganda and nothing more.
