Spain reached the eighth final of the 2026 World Cup after an easy 3-0 win over Austria on Thursday night.
The tie was held until Mikel Oyarzabal scored the first goal for the Matadors in the 36th minute off a pass from Cucurella.
Alex Baena almost extended El Matador’s lead with a second goal before the end of the first half, but for the skill of goalkeeper Schlager.
Pedor Boro was able to score the second goal with a strong header in the 66th minute, after Alex Baena’s pass.
Mikel Oyarzabal returned to score his second personal goal and third for Spain in the 89th minute.
In the 1/8 finals, the Spanish national team will face the winner of the Portugal-Croatia match.
