Merino specializes in time killers.
Today, Friday, after scoring the winning goal in the 88th minute of the match in the quarter-finals of the World Cup 2026, Mikel Merino led the Spanish team to a decisive victory over Belgium (2-1).
Merino’s goal took Spain’s tally in the current World Cup to 11, equaling their best in a single game in the tournament, which they scored in 1986.
