Morocco opened the scoring early in their crucial World Cup qualifier just seconds after the opening whistle with Ismail Sibari’s superb goal in the second minute of the match.
The goal came after a neat pass from Real Madrid star Ibrahim Diaz allowed Saibari to fire a direct shot from a narrow angle into the top corner of goalkeeper Angus Gunn.
Saibari scored his second goal in two consecutive games (the first Moroccan to do so), cementing his status as a prolific goalscorer and giving the Atlas Lions a great start in a game that could put them a big step away from claiming top spot in the group.
The early goal shocked the opposition, who were unable to get into the rhythm of the game before going down 1-0 within minutes of the game.
The goal is the fastest ever goal by an Arab in a World Cup, in addition to being the fastest in the tournament.
