After the taping, Imam Ashour’s celebration also caught the attention of Trevor Noah, as he compared the way he celebrated to that of popular Irish fighter Conor McGregor, before repeating the question more than once during the conversation with his guests.

Noah’s reaction mirrored the global resonance of Emam Ashour’s goal, considered by many to be one of the most beautiful goals of the tournament so far, when the Egypt international fired a powerful shot from outside the box past Belgium goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois.
