Video: Mustafa Schubert picks the best goalkeeper in Arab history

Mustafa Shubert, the goalkeeper of “Al-Ahly” and the Egyptian national team, was chosen as the best goalkeeper in Arab history.

Schubert shone for Egypt in his first appearance with the Pharaohs at the World Cup and was instrumental in helping the team reach the round of sixteen for the first time in their history.

Schubert also shone, at the ultimate cost in Argentina’s game. He took Messi’s penaltybefore the Pharaohs eventually lost 3/2 amid accusations from the Egyptians that the referee had deliberately rigged the game for Argentina to win.

During a television interview with journalist Amr Adib, Mustafa Shubert said: “Moroccan goalkeeper Yassin Bounou has very high morals and is a respectable person. He wrote me after the Argentina game.”

He continued. “I contacted him to find out how he takes penalties from the standing position, and from my point of view, Yassin Bunu is the best goalkeeper in Arab history.”
