Ibrahim Al-Ankari confirms that Al-Nasr deserved the title, followed by Al-Ahli.
Former coach and analyst Ibrahim Al-Ankari has slammed Al-Hilal after losing the Roshan Saudi Arabian Professional League title to rivals Al-Nasr.
Al-Hilal missed out on the title despite a 1-0 win over Al-Fayha in the final round of the competition yesterday, Thursday night, as they failed to beat champions Al-Nasr, who also beat Damaq 4-1.
After two meetings, Al-Ankari said in the “Action with Walid” program. “The league was decided for whoever deserved it. Al-Nasr was fighting for the title.”
He added: “Al-Ahly is the second team that deserved that title more because it lost matches it shouldn’t have lost.”
Al-Ankari explained. “For Al-Hilal, losing the league saved them from the illusion of finishing. Sometimes losing a title can help you see a flaw, while some wins lead a team to a great illusion.”
“I was the first to criticize Cristiano Ronaldo, but it’s hard to say he’s not good and I’m happy he won the Saudi League title. I think this title is the most difficult in Ronaldo’s career. I don’t think he has gone 4 years without a league title in any other country and that confirms that the Roshen league is tough.”
