Norway star Erling Haaland opened his scoring record at the World Cup by visiting the Iraq team net twice in his first game at the tournament.
Holland scored his first goal in the 29th minute of the match against Iraq in the opening round of the 9th group held at the Gillette Stadium in Boston, USA early on Wednesday morning.
The Manchester City star headed the perfect cross into the net amid a lack of defensive control from the Iraqi side.
Then he came back and scored the second goal two minutes before the end of the first half, taking advantage of a disastrous mistake by goalkeeper Jalal Hasan, who was slow to clear the ball near the goal.
According to the Opta network, Holland has scored in his last 11 official games for the Norwegian national team since November 2024.
