Video: Free kick… The arbitration decision caused a controversy between Al Hilal and Al Khalij.

The arbitration expert explains the case

Al-Haleij-Al-Hilal match in the 31st round of the Roshen Saudi Arabian Professional League this Tuesday night has witnessed some controversial refereeing shots.

In the 38th minute, Al Hilal players awarded a penalty after the ball hit the hand of Joshua King of Golf, but the referee of the match, Latvian Andris Trimanis, did not award anything.

Al-Riyadiya newspaper arbitration analyst Muhammad Kamal Risha confirmed the correctness of the referee’s decision not to award a penalty.

Risha explained that the ball hit the Gulf King player’s hand, but it was in a normal position, stressing that the player did not make any additional movement or attempt to increase his body size and that the ball was directed into his hand, making the decision to continue play correct.

He noted that the referee made the correct decision on the pitch with the assistance of the video technology room (VAR) who reviewed the situation and confirmed that there was no foul requiring a penalty kick.
