Paris Saint-Germain have stepped up their preparations using unconventional methods as they set their sights on a tough Champions League final against Arsenal.
The final match will be held on May 30 at the Puskas Arena stadium in Budapest, the capital of Hungary.
Paris Saint-Germain’s recent training session showed unusual preparation ahead of their upcoming clash against Arsenal.
The coaching staff resorted to special goalkeeper training using impact pads to try to simulate the physical pressure expected in the penalty area, which the Gunners rely on. The Paris team’s goalkeepers appeared in training with cross balls in direct contact as members of the coaching staff pushed them using tools designed to increase the intensity of the challenge, in a scene that reflects a clear emphasis on perfecting the spot-kicks that are Arsenal’s most important weapons.
It comes as part of preparations led by Spanish coach Luis Enrique, who is trying to prepare his goalkeepers to cope with the physical style adopted by coach Mikel Arteta’s side, particularly from corners and aerial attacks inside the area.
