A strange ending to coronation night
Argentinian Pablo Solari Ferreira, the midfielder of “Spartak” Moscow, destroyed the Russian football cup during the celebration of his team winning the championship title at the expense of “Krasnodar”.
Videos shared on social media showed the 25-year-old raising the crystal trophy in front of fans to celebrate the achievement, before the scene turned into a shocking moment seconds later when the lid separated from the main body of the cup before the bottom fell and shattered to the astonishment of those in attendance.
Spartak Moscow won the Russian Cup title by beating Krasnodar 4-3 on penalties after the match ended 1-1 in the decisive final.
This is Spartak Moscow’s fifth Russian Cup title in history, after the team previously won the title in the 2021-2022 season.
