Saudi journalist Khaled Al-Shenef has sent a coded message to the Saudi national team asking for the help of Egypt coach Hossam Hassan after qualifying the Pharaohs for the 2026 World Cup finals.
“Dean” took Egypt to their eighth World Cup final for the first time in their history after defeating Australia in the round of 32 on Friday with a positive 1-1 draw after the end of regular and extra time.
Al-Shenef said in his statements to the “Dorina Ghair” program of the “Saudi Arabia” TV channel.
“I watch the Egyptian national team and I seem to see Hossam and Ibrahim Hassan playing, fighting for every ball, with enthusiasm and desire. You can even feel his feelings and emotions before and during the game and he gives 200% to his team.”
He concluded. “Therefore, there is no national coach like him, whether in feelings, love of the motherland, or work.”
Two months before the start of the World Cup, the Saudi Arabian national team used the services of Greek coach Giorgos Donis at the expense of French Herve Renard, despite the nomination of national coach Saad Al-Shehri.
Donis failed to add to the Greens as they crashed out of the 2026 World Cup at the bottom of the group eight with two points from draws with Uruguay and Cape Verde before a 4-0 defeat by Spain.
