Brazil’s training recently raised questions about the fitness of star Rafinha and a number of Seleção players ahead of the 2026 World Cup second leg against Haiti next Saturday morning.
Five-time World Cup winners Brazil opened their World Cup campaign in the United States with a 1-1 draw against Morocco in a major embarrassment for coach Carlo Ancelotti’s side.
During Brazil’s training session on Monday, Barcelona star Rafinha was one of four players who took a break and did light exercises away from the group.
And according to Globo networkRafinha, Gabriel, Bruno Guimaraes and Neymar rested before the Haiti game.
He explained. “Neymar is injured, Gabriel and Guimarães are exhausted and Rafinha is suffering from blisters and he trained without boots.”
Brazilian journalist Raisa Simplicio also published a video on her VX account, where it can be seen that Rafinha is walking barefoot on the grass outside the field.
Brazil still have a few days of training ahead of the game against Haiti, giving the players time to rest and recover before their second game.
But Barcelona will certainly be relieved to see Rafinha being treated with care, especially after he was sidelined for several weeks with a hamstring injury he picked up while playing for the national team at the start of last season.
At the beginning of the World Cup, Rafinha admitted that he has not yet reached his best physical condition, but he did everything in order to go to the World Cup in the best shape.
He said: “I got an injury that kept me out for a little over a month without training or playing. But I’ve always tried to give my best with the treatment and the club, to be 100% ready for the Brazil national team.”
