French Interior Minister Laurent Nounier explained on Thursday morning that security forces arrested 127 people, including 107 in Paris alone.

He also noted that 11 people were injured during the riots, one of them was seriously injured by a firecracker.

In the statements given to CNews and Europe 1 Radio, the minister added that 23 policemen also received light injuries in connection with the incidents.

Nunez condemned the violence “in the strongest possible way”, stressing that French authorities will impose tighter security measures in the capital ahead of the May 30 Champions League final against Arsenal in Budapest.
