The White Knight won the title for the fifteenth time in its history
Some of Zamalek’s players have asked for help from Saudi club Al-Ahly during the celebrations of winning the Egyptian league title.
Zamalek won the Egyptian league title for the fifteenth time in their historyToday, Wednesday, after defeating Keramika Cleopatra with a clear goal in the seventh, final round of the coronation group.
When receiving the Egyptian League shield, some White Knight players made sure to wear black glasses with the Zamalek Club logo painted on one lens and the number 15 written on the other lens, in reference to the club’s number of titles in the competition.
The celebration is very similar to that of some Saudi Al-Ahly players after winning the AFC Elite Champions League title for the second straight season on April 25, beating Japan’s Machida Zelvia with a clean sheet.
Some of Al-Ahly’s players, including Brazilian defender Roger Ibanez, wore dark glasses as they won the Asian title at Al-Enmaa Stadium.
This celebration caused controversy at the time, especially as rival fans used the sunglasses to mock Al-Ahli, which marked their promotion to the Saudi Yellow League First Division at the end of the 2021–22 season.
