I have been a Verizon customer since T-Mobile and Sprint combined, and I’ve always had the chance to get solid work, even in crowded places and rough weather. This year, I moved states and added to Verizon Home Internet, which has been great and affordable since I got it. I already have a very expensive Verizon service plan. I also bought a new device, added a cellular plan to my Apple Watch, have YouTube Premium along with Hulu and Spotify… there is a chance that I am paying my electric bill through Verizon and I don’t know it yet. (The last part is a joke.)
Verizon just announced Verizon Simplicity Plan which means rewarding loyal customers like me and making it a little less messy. At $45, it’s as expensive as an entry-level plan but offers more advanced services, including access to features usually reserved for higher-end plans, such as travel passes and low-cost advertising services. There is also a new rewards program with cashback and free Mondays. The new Simplicity system just launched today, so I checked it out. Spoiler alert: I finally decided to change my service plan.
Verizon Simplicity is a phone plan that costs $45 per month per line (or $30 per month for eligible Verizon customers). The base price gets you 5G phone service with unlimited data, talk, and text; Global roaming and satellite messaging; 10 gigabytes of mobile hotspot data; including Verizon Dollars, phone filtering, and Verizon Family (parental control software). You can bring your phone, too. If you sign up for Verizon Loyalty, you won’t have to deal with any fees or charges, either.
After you download the base, you can add more bundles to your queue. For example, the Movie Lovers group adds on Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN+ (with ads) and Netflix and HBO Max (with ads) for $23 a month. These services would cost $40 per month when purchased separately. Families may want to check out the bundles that come with Apple Music or YouTube Premium, including Verizon Family Plus, an additional $20 per month rather than $31. Another bundle gets you Google AI Pro, a 100GB mobile hotspot, and a second phone number for $30 a month instead of $75.
These bundles are especially attractive if you are paying for these services separately. (I really wish that there was a way to get services without commercials, but I haven’t figured this out yet.) Especially when phone loans can feel very difficult, I like how easy this method is, and I will be changing it as soon as I finish writing this article. There is also a Home Internet Bundle, Verizon Onewhich includes your mobile service and home internet for $70 a month. Unfortunately, I’m not a new customer, so I can’t log in. It seems like a very good deal if you are paying for the services separately and bringing your own device.
Verizon Dollars and 3% cash back you’ll earn when you pay your bill, including the cost of products and extras—not just your phone service. Dollars can be redeemed for gift cards, equipment purchases, products from Verizon Stores, and third-party offers. The program will begin in July. Currently, examples of stores where you can redeem Verizon Dollars include Wayfair, Target, and Starbucks.
There is also Verizon Shinewhich has different contests you can enter every Monday and “daily drops” with the chance to win special seats and tickets to live events. This is similar to T-Mobile’s popular Tuesday in-app promotions, which sometimes have great deals on offer. shaking Wingstop. Old Verizon customers like me will remember that the company used to have a rewards program where you could redeem coffee shop gift cards and similar items, so I’m glad to see the same return. In the past, these items have been snapped up pretty quickly, so I’m curious to see how this week’s drop goes: Free $5 Starbucks gift cards, FIFA wine coolers and water bottles, and other deals. Meanwhile, the winner of Monday’s Epic Win competition for Verizon Shine will go to the final of the FIFA World Cup with David Beckham. Not too shabby.
Verizon says Future prizes will include merchandise and/or gift cards from Amazon, Ulta, Dunkin’ Donuts, TopGolf, and more. I can’t say that checking my cell phone app has been a priority for me so far in my life, but I love free stuff, so I’ll obviously be checking into the Verizon app on Mondays going forward.
All in all, I think this offer is worth checking out whether you’re a Verizon customer or new. Any chance to save money is a win in my book. Now if you’ll excuse me, I have a free card to take.
