Valve now says that the Steam Machine PC delay and Steam Frame VR headset are set to launch sometime this summer. In a Thursday blog post detailing its Confirmed software for both devices, Valve concludes to say that “We’re excited for players to test your titles on the new Steam hardware as soon as it launches this summer.”
When the company announced the Machine and Frame along with its new Steam Controller at the end of last year, it said that it would start shipping the new devices in early 2026. in FebruaryThe company announced that the recall and continued storage has caused it to revise its prices and shipping plans. And in March, Valve said in a blog post that will be “to ship all three products this year” — even after the company said in a post that it “expects to ship in 2026,” which it later deleted in an update.
Valve decided to release the Steam Controller on their ownsell it in early May. For Machine and Frame, while “summer” isn’t an exact time, it narrows the window for when things can come out.
Before installing the equipment, Valve is updating the Steam store and share information about the Certified hardware software so that developers can prepare their games. Similar to Steam Deck, if a game is verified on Machine or Frame, the badge indicates that the game should work properly without tweaks from the user.
About Machinethe requirements for the game to be verified “are the same” as those on the Steam Deck. With the Machine being “six times as powerful” as the Deck, in theory, many other games will be guaranteed. Valve also says it’s testing “every title on the Machine that fell below our requirements for the Deck.”
About foundationValve’s verified badge will show games that run well when played naturally on a headset – as opposed to games that work well streaming to the head, which Frame can also. “Like Steam Deck Verified, the Steam Frame Standalone Verified program focuses on the experience customers will have with the device in a standalone mode,” says Valve.
Now, we just need Valve to share exactly when Steam Machine and Steam Frame will be released and how much they will cost. After last week the cost of the Steam DeckI plan to be surprised by the stickers.
