A girls’ boarding school where American socialite Paris Hilton claims she was abused as a young woman has had its license revoked.
Utah state regulators have cited cases of unnecessary restraint, aggressive physical contact and insubordination at the Provo Canyon school’s Springville campus dating back to 2025.
Hilton, who campaigned to close the school, She testified before Congress about her experience in the 1990s, saying the facility “failed the children in its care.”
The school said it is considering an appeal against the decision. The girls’ facility is described on its website as an intensive psychiatric youth residential treatment center for girls ages 12 to 18.
The Utah Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) said the school “failed to provide appropriate health and safety services to clients.”

In a statement to the BBC, social media personality Hilton, 45, said: “For over fifty years, children have come forward with stories of abuse, neglect and trauma.
“Today, the state confirmed what survivors already knew: Provo Canyon School failed the children in its care. I was one of those children.
“I know what it feels like to cry for help and believe that no one will come. Today, the children in that facility know that someone is coming to wait for them.”
