Warwickshire Bears have signed Pakistan spinner Usman Tariq for the upcoming T20 Blast campaign.
The 30-year-old has risen to prominence over the past few years after successful campaigns in the Pakistan Super League and Caribbean Premier League in 2025.
He made his T20 International debut against South Africa in November of that year and scored a hat-trick in his second appearance against Zimbabwe.
The off-spinner has taken 18 wickets in nine matches at an economy rate of 6.66 runs per over.
Tariq, who has played just two first-class matches, has so far taken 89 wickets in 60 matches in his T20 career.
The Bears said they “fought off global competition” to sign Tariq, who will star in this year’s Hundred for Birmingham Phoenix at Edgbaston.
“Usman is exactly the type of high-impact player we want to bring to Warwickshire, so we are delighted to have completed this deal.” Bears performance director James Thomas said., outsider
“His skill and tactical awareness make him a real threat in modern white-ball cricket, but it’s his hunger to compete and constantly improve that really stands out.”
