US Women’s Open: Nellie Korda moves into lead as Charlie Hull storms leaderboard

The US Women’s Open is the second of five majors on the women’s tour, with Korda winning the first Victory at the Chevron Championship in April.

She aims to win the US Women’s Open for the first time in her 12th attempt after finishing joint runner-up in 2025.

“I think last year I really, really wanted it, and sometimes the more you want it, the tighter you get and the more nervous you get,” said Korda, who rebounded from a first-round 73 with two rounds of 67.

“I play my best golf when I’m happy, free Nellie, and I’m almost joking out there. So I’ll have that attitude tomorrow (Sunday).”

First-round leader Jennifer Kupcho is five under off the lead with In-Ji Chun after hitting 69 in their third round.

“I can’t control what anybody else is doing, so I’m going to go out there and do my best and see how it stacks up against them,” American Kupcho said.
