Democratic lawmakers are on fire, following the creation of a controversial “Anti-Weaponization Fund.”

The President of the United States, Donald Trump, his family, and his businesses have been granted immunity from any further tax investigation, according to the instructions of the Ministry of Justice.
The move on Tuesday came as an extension of Trump’s agreement yesterday to settle a $10bn lawsuit against the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) over the release of his tax information to the media between 2018 and 2020.

In a one-page document, signed by Attorney General Todd Blanche, the Justice Department said the administration “WILL AND WILL NOT” “prosecute or pursue” tax charges against Trump, his family members, and his businesses.
The document, which was posted on the Justice Department’s website without announcement or press release, said the waivers also apply to inquiries that are “currently pending or pending,” including anything related to Trump’s tax returns filed before Monday’s deadline.
Democratic lawmakers were immediately outraged.
Senator Adam Schiff of California criticized the Trump administration for corruption and “self-interest”.
“The tax evading president has given himself and his entire family a tax break, thanks to Todd Blanche,” Schiff said in a televised statement.
Richard Painter, the White House attorney general under former President George W Bush, said acquitting Trump on any tax charges would be unconstitutional.
“If the President or his family owes money to the IRS, this is a violation of the US Constitution, which states that the President cannot receive any benefits or benefits from the US government other than his salary as approved by Congress,” Painter told Al Jazeera.
The Justice Department and the Trump Organization did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
The Justice Department’s advisory shows a significant increase in Trump’s settlement, which established the so-called “Anti-Weaponization Fund“Paying people who claim to have been victimized by politically-created “laws”.
Critics have compared this to a “slush fund”, warning that it should be used to reward Trump supporters.
Decisions on the distribution of funds from the fund of $ 1.776bn will be made by a committee of five people, four of whom will be appointed directly by Blanche, who was appointed by Trump and who was his lawyer.
In a heated debate with Democratic senators on Tuesday, Blanche denied that Trump directed her to set up the fund or that it was being used inappropriately.
“Anyone in this country is eligible to register if they believe they have been armed,” Blanche said.
